What will be done to ensure my child’s safety and supervision while at the camp?
The safety and well-being of our campers is a top priority for camp administration and faculty. Every camp activity will be closely supervised by qualified faculty, senior level student volunteers and resident or mentor engineers.
Campers will not leave the campus unless in the presence of a staff member. If a camper does need to leave campus with a family member or someone previously designated and authorized by a parent or guardian they will do so under direct supervision of camp faculty. Camp rules to ensure camper’s safety include:
• Campers should be present for all camp activities.
• Any scheduled field trips or visits to design project locations will be supervised at all times.
• Campers will not wander around campus and must ALWAYS travel with a staff member.
• Campers must not bring or invite any outside guests to campus during the program.
Is it necessary to attend all camp sessions?
Campers should attend 100% of all sessions in order to graduate. All campers will be held to high (age appropriate) standards and are expected to participate in all program activities. Camp sessions are highly concentrated, so missing one session would be a disadvantage and significant loss of learning opportunity.
What are the activities during the week?
Camp Success is designed to stimulate creativity, present students with interactive challenges, and provide the satisfaction of seeing ideas in action. Campers will work in small teams on real design and engineering problems. Activities will challenge their creative and critical thinking skills, and show them how to work together to reach solutions that draw on everyone’s strengths. Field trips, as well as recreational and social activities, will help the campers meet new people, learn new things, and have fun while at Camp Success.
