![]() Camp Success at Florence-Darlington Technical CollegeJune 6 - 11, 2010 Campers will spend the week at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing & Technology on Florence-Darlington Technical College's campus exploring careers in engineering and technology in state-of-the-art facilities. Campers will work in teams lead by subject area experts/mentors and participate in activities that they will remember for years to come. Exploring a wide range of programs such as Engineering, Transportation, Manufacturing, Industrial Technologies, and Mechatronics. Discovery Workshops may include activities in fields such as Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Computer-Aided Design, Robotics, Mechatronics, Building Construction, Electronics and Automotive Engineering. Camp Success Florence is open to rising 7th and 8th graders. Camp will begin with a Parents' Meeting and Orientation on Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During Sunday's orientation, campers will begin by learning about specifications and build Ice Cream Sundaes. The camp will be from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each day is filled with an exciting and diverse schedule of Discovery Workshops, learning lab activities, and field trips to local companies. Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. is Celebration Day for campers, their families and guests. A parent information session will be followed by team presentations and recognitions. The cost to attend Camp Success Florence is $125 per week (which covers the cost of materials and field trips). There will be 5 scholarships available.
